Mark Porath is originally from Wellington. He is a qualified lawyer but pursued careers in International Marketing and Sales, and Financial Services.

Mark held management positions in International Sales and Marketing for Alex Harvey Industries and was a senior General Manager of Marac Holdings, a leading Financial Services company in New Zealand. He was then Chief Executive of a private diversified investment business and joined an international Executive Search firm in 1991.

In the ensuing 27 years he played a prominent role in the Executive Search industry in New Zealand, successfully placing directors, senior executives, and technical specialists across many industries in both the public and private sectors.

Mark formed PORATH EXECUTIVE SEARCH (part of The Camford Group) in 1997 to provide specialist Executive Search, Consulting and Advisory Services to clients in New Zealand and Australia. The continuing development of a ‘single Australasian market’ required intimate knowledge of both the New Zealand and Australian business environments and PORATH EXECUTIVE SEARCH offered its clients specialist advice.

Mark Porath served as a Director and Vice Chairman of an international Executive Search company for a cumulative period of 10 years. He was then a founding Partner of TINZON GROUP Global Executive Search with partner firms located in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America.

A former Director of the Outward Bound Trust of New Zealand 1998-2002, Mark chaired the Advisory Board to the Dean of the AUT University Business and Law Faculty 2008-2016. Mark was an Honorary Chair and active Vice Chair of the Trans-Tasman Business Circle in New Zealand 2008-2018.

Mark decided to wind down his Executive Search business in 2018 to focus on writing his book “Colour of Stealth”, the first of a trilogy. “Impact of Stealth” was subsequently published, followed by the third of the trilogy “Reality of Stealth”. Mark has been very flattered by the positive reactions to his publications. He is currently writing a fourth book – an entirely different genre.
